Chad and Emily Bartling opened Plan B Event Style Catering in the spring of 2008, with a vision of creating Kansas City's freshest and most affordable catering service. Starting about age 10, Chad started cooking in his family's kitchens as often as possible. He always had a passion for creating fresh food. Cooking with family was his favorite thing to do. Following what he knew he wanted to do, Chad started working in some of Kansas City's most reputable restaurants at age 14. Even though he started out as a bus boy because he wasn't old enough to do anything else, he was constantly getting in trouble for hanging out in the kitchen where he really wanted to be. He just loved learning about food.

     To make a long story short, he finally moved to the kitchen when he was 18. After working for a couple of months in that kitchen, he was offered a position at another local Restaurant as the Executive Chef. He started to use his family's famous recipes from more than four generations. After working for more than 6 years at the same restaurant he decided to start his own business.
